Scott McClurg
Professor McClurg (Ph.D., Washington University, 2000) joined the Department in fall 2001. He teaches American Politics and quantitative methods, and his research interests lie in the areas of political participation, electoral behavior, political geography, and campaign dynamics. He has published work on political participation and electoral mobilization in Political Research Quarterly, American Journal of Political Science, Political Behavior, and American Politics Research. His current research interests center on public deliberation and political participation and on the relationship between election campaigns and voting behavior in the United States. Work-in-progress includes an extended study of campaign effects in the past two presidential elections at both the individual and aggregate levels. He is currently the Director of Graduate Studies.
