| Professor Foster (Ph.D., Minnesota, 1971), the department Chair from
1981-1995, has been at SIUC since 1975. He is the co-author of two
volumes (John Wiley & Sons, 1975, 1978) on the simulation of policy processes
and numerous articles and book chapters. His current research focuses on
bureaucratic structure and personality, bureaucratic attitudes toward
innovation, and management of local government. His work has appeared in Social Science Quarterly, Journal of Politics, American Journal
of Political Science, and Administration & Society. He was awarded
the university's Sturgis award for public service in 1999 and received the
College of Liberal Arts' and University's outstanding teaching award in 2002.
He directed Fulbright summer institutes on American government and politics for
the U.S. Department of State 1997-2003. |
