| Professor Comparato (Ph.D., Washington University, 2000) joined the SIUC
faculty in fall 2000. He teaches courses in judicial process, constitutional
law, civil liberties, and criminal rights. He has research interests in
judicial decision making, legal argumentation, state supreme courts, the
transmission and interpretation of precedent by lower courts, and interest
group participation in the courts. He is the author of Amici Curiae and
Strategic Behavior in State Supreme Courts (Greenwood, 2003). His current
research addresses lower court compliance with U.S. Supreme Court precedent and
the geographical diffusion of precedent. |
